Suzanne Antoinette Duchenne (November 21, 1923 - March 1, 2016) was a French-American right-handed épée fencer and coach.
Duchenne was best known as the coach of four-time individual world champion in épée Gaël Le Bris and Olympic gold medallist Robert Coste.[1]
Duchenne was born in Paris, France, the only child of Charles Duchenne, a French industrial chemist, and Patricia Bonneville, an American travel writer.
In 1940, Duchenne and her parents emigrated to Boston, Massachusetts, where Bonneville's extended family owned the now-defunct Boston Shield (later Boston Shield and Bulletin) newspaper.
Duchenne died in 2016, at the age of 92. Her distant cousin, Antoine Duchenne, is coach of the French national épée team.
